Abby had her first dance recital on Sunday, December 11th. We were a little nervous about how she would do. For the past few weeks in class, Abby would dance for maybe the first 10 minutes and then complain that she was "too tired" and go lay down in the back of the class room. We figured we would give her until her first recital and then re-evaluate if she is really liking it or not.
For the dress rehersal, we bribed her with ice cream afterwards if she dance. Sure enough....she danced! She even told her teacher at the end that she was going to get ice cream b/c she danced. ha!

So, the big day was here. Nana and Papa even drove from Lake Tahoe to come see it....No pressure Ab. This time we bribed her with flowers afterwards if she danced. Her morning went fine. We got her to her holding room for the recital fine. And then we waited in the gym of our YMCA to see if she would do it.
She takes the stage......
She gets in position (They danced to I'm dreaming of a White Christmas, so they started off sleeping)...
She waves to the crowd...
A bit of a slow start when she's supposed to be dancing....
A few shy smiles....
AND THEN SHE DANCES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
She did awesome! As much as a 3 year old dance class can go anyway. She did most of the moves, she smiled and most importantly she had fun.
When the song was over, she ran over to Grandpa who was right off stage so he could see her dance (the rest of us went to a track that was above the "stage" so we could see). She said, "I DID IT!!" He told that she did a great job and then she said, "I can't believe I really did it!!"
She was proud and so were we!
