Ethan is 7!

Another year down and our buddy boy is seven years old!  A big time first grader going to school all day.   Ethan, here are just a few of our favorite things about you:

-  You continue to make us extremely proud at school.  You are an excellent student who loves to follow the rules.  You made the transition of going full day just fine.  Every day you come home from school and say it was "AWESOME."  Sometimes on the weekends you are disappointed because you want to be at school.  Your teacher loves having you in her classroom because you are so sweet, helpful and kind.  We got glowing reports about you at your first parent teacher conference.  You have taken off with reading and writing.  You are already at the reading level they expect you to be reading at the END of first grade!  You love to read "Who Was..." books, Junie B. Jones and Magic Tree House. I love to read all the stories and notes you write now.

- The freckles across your nose and cheeks keep growing!  I love them so much!

- I think right now your favorite activity is doing cub scouts.  You were SO excited to join...mainly because your cousins love it so much and talked to you a lot about it.  You joined your own pack this fall and love going to all the events.  We even joined hike club where we go on special hikes with your pack and do things like geocaching.  We did your first camp out this fall and we had a beautiful night for it.  You even caught a few fish with dad!

- You have such a positive attitude.  I have had your friends moms and teachers all tell me that their favorite thing about you is how positive you are.  You don't mind trying new adventures and are excited about it.  Almost every time you're asked, "How was your day? "  or "How did you like this?"   Your answer is "Awesome!" or "Great!"  Your positive energy makes other people happy!

- You started taking piano lessons.  You are very excited about it...especially since Grandpa gives you a $2 bill every time you play a new song for him!  It will be fun to see you get better and play more difficult songs.

- We just signed you up for another season of baseball and you are SO excited.  So far, baseball has been your favorite sport.

-  One time when you were at Grandpa's house, he gave you a piece of string tied in a circle and taught you how to play cats cradle string games.  You thought it was so cool and you practiced it over and over.  You also learned how to do the broomstick.  Grandma and Grandpa got you a book to teach you how to do more of those fun tricks for your birthday!

 - Your biggest obsession right now is RAINBOW LOOM.  You make bracelets out of tiny rubber bands.  You want to do it ALL THE TIME.  It's the hot item right now everywhere and you are in on it!

- You are a great eater!  You will try just about anything I cook.  I think some of your favorites are taco night, pizza, spaghetti and chili.

Ethan, you continue to make us proud with your kind and hard-working personality.   We love you!
