Since we are at the beginning of 2010, I thought I would quickly go back to January to write about how our year started. As most of you know by now, we had planned to drive out to Southern California for Christmas. It started snowing on Christmas Day in STL, but we decided to give it a try and head for the beach! Well, we made it about 20 miles and someone rear ended us, totaling our car. Grandma and Grandpa Haberberger both came out in separate cars to get us and all of our stuff and we all eventually made it home safely. That evening Karen ended up having a stomach bug and was attached to the toilet the entire rest of the night. Ethan ended up getting the bug the next day and didn't so much understand the concept of running to a toilet. Lots and lots of clean up! A few days later, Ethan's asthma got the best of him and we ended up in the ER. Whew....what a crazy few days!
But, then the thing that made it all better was that Nana Beyrouty came to STL for a 2 week visit! We loved having her around for so long. She got in late on a Friday night, so we set up all the Christmas presents she brought out with her, a few strands of Chrsistmas lights, and a little tree. When the kids got up Saturday morning, they got to come downstairs to a second Christmas!
We did all kinds of fun things while Nana was in town: Incredible Pizza, The Zoo, Powder Valley, The Magic House, to name a few.
Thank you Nana for coming in for such an extended period! We loved having you around and we miss you!
